D Limonene
D-Limonene also just referred to as limonene is a refined solvent with a distinct citrus odour. The flashpoint of limonene is 43ºC and the specific gravity is 0.84. Limonene is found in the terpenes family which means its strong aromas are to deter predators. It is created from citrus peels and has strong solvency with long-lasting odour. D Limonene can be used at low concentrations and it will still impact quite a bit within formulations.
D-Limonene Uses
There are so many uses for d-limonene as it is such a versatile and useful product to have around. It is regularly used in the manufacture of cleaning chemicals paints and surface coatings, cosmetics, perfumes and pharmaceuticals. D Limonene can be found in a lot of adhesive remover formulations as the nature of d-limonene makes it perfect to remove sticky residue. It is also used as a wetting agent, flavouring, fragrance and perfume material.
