What smell does ethanol and bioethanol give off in heating?

A common question we get a lot of the time coming into winter, is what is the difference in burning between Bioethanol and Ethanol?

The answer is no difference at all.

Both the chemicals are designed to process the same way for all applications. The only difference is how the both ethanols are made. The bioethanol is considered to be made through an environmentally process, that is eco-friendly, whereas the ethanol is processed as each other chemical is.

So what is the smell?

The odour that is given off can depend on the fireplace you have. Some burners are created so that not all fumes will be burnt off, meaning that there will be a slightly stronger smell of ethanol fuel. This is due to there not being a seal burner. But the smell is nothing to be concerned about, as majority of the time you can barely smell it.

When you are trying to choose which one to go for either is recommended. We have customers that use both ethanol and bioethanol as their fuel. Our quality fuel means that the burn is great, keeping you nice and warm for winter. Of course if you’d like to know more, feel free to contact us on 02 4722 5060.
