Ethanol and Isopropyl Alcohol differences Get to know which product suits your needs.

Have you ever wondered what the differences between Ethanol and Isopropyl alcohol are?

The main difference between these products is the way they are made, Ethanol is made out of sugar cane, wheat or more plant-based sources, making it environment friendly, whereas Isopropyl Alcohol is made from chemical manufacturing.

In some applications you can use either one, IPA is also known as rubbing alcohol. Both are very good for disinfecting and cleaning and leave no residue. The IPA can have some effects on plastic so always spot test before application. Ethanol can be used in Ethanol fireplace heaters where Isopropyl cannot. Both of these products can be used as a multi-purpose cleaner, they are great for cleaning mirrors without a smudge, they even help kill bacteria on benches, stainless steel surfaces and even plants! The IPA and Ethanol are both used in the manufacture of glass cleaners and window cleaners. They are used widely where drying time and no residue is required on hard surfaces.
