Methylene Chloride known as dichloromethane (DCM) that is uniquely a non-flammable product until boiling point at 40.1 ºC. The product is a dense product with a specific gravity of 1.326. Dichloromethane evaporates very quickly and is highly effective on complex resin systems. It is not miscible with water but is miscible with other organic solvents.

Industrial & DIY Uses:

• Methylene Chloride is used as an industrial solvent in paint strippers, paint removers, film coatings, pharmaceuticals, finishing electronics manufacturing, and used a propellant in aerosols.  
• Used as an extraction solvent.
• Used to degrease metal surfaces and parts.
• It can be useful in the production of photographic films, synthetic, fibres, adhesives, inks and printed circuit boards.

Methylene Chloride Hazards

Methylene chloride is an extremely dangerous product and needs to be handled with care. Methylene chloride can cause skin, eye and respiratory irritation. When inhaling the product is can cause drowsiness or dizziness, and is suspected to cause cancer.
