White Spirit is a clear colourless liquid hydrocarbon that is widely used across a variety of different industries and is commonly referred to as a turpentine substitute. The flashpoint of white spirit is 42ºC and the boiling point is between 149-194ºC with a specific gravity of 0.78. White spirit has a good level of solvency which means that it mixes well with other solvents. It has a controlled mid-range evaporation rate and leaves no residue upon drying. White spirit is a petroleum-based solvent.

Cleaning & Household Uses:

• Cleans paint brushes and equipment. Effective for painting prep and cleaning up.
• Apply a small amount and work into stains to remove.
• Assists with cleaning up oil, grease and general dirt. Degreases and cleanses automobile and machinery part cleaning.
• Removes sticky residue. Use on a cloth and work into surfaces like carpets or clothing to remove gum or stick residues.
• Use on a cloth to remove skid marks and scratches from tiles.

Industrial & DIY Uses:

• Solvent us used as thinner for paints and varnishes.
• Can remove oil and acrylic based paints, varnishes, tar and tree sap residues.

Painting Preparation Uses:

• Used to erase some mistakes whilst painting.
• Clean paints brushes – even with heavy built up oils and paints, the turps can be used to dissolve and break down for an easy clean.
• Used to thin our or dilute the thickness of paint.
